In September of 2017, the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) approached Sign Source Solution with a unique request. They wanted a full vehicle wrap for the van they use to transport their seeing-eye dogs in-training. CNIB wanted to develop a stronger community presence and further their branding with a creative, eye-catching vehicle graphic.
CNIB shared their ideas and company guideline with our team. We proposed two designs based on CNIB’s needs. Both designs were bright, positive, and featured images of their dogs to effectively attract attention from people walking or driving by. CNIB chose our first design, with a few changes to the imagery. Once the design was updated and approved, the Sign Source Solution team got to work.
We used leading 3M vehicle grade vinyl, Controltac™ with Comply™ graphic film over laminate IJ180cv3, for their vehicle graphic. This vinyl is high performance and protects the vehicle’s original paint, and adheres well to the curves and rivets of any vehicle.
The quality material used for CNIB’s vehicle wrap will ensure that it doesn’t fade or crack for many years. It can handle harsh Canadian winters, as it can withstand temperatures from -65’C to 107’C. It’s also resistant to damage from rain, water, snow, and slush.
CNIB wanted a bright, attention-grabbing design, so we chose a gloss overlaminate that shines and provides intense colour. The colour beneath the vehicle graphic is completely hidden by the laminate’s grey adhesive. When CNIB is ready to remove it, the vehicle wrap won’t damage the van’s paint – in fact, the vinyl will actually protect the paint from UV rays.
We created and installed CNIB’s beautiful vehicle wrap on-time and on-budget, and our client was very happy with the result. The high-quality, custom wrap will help CNIB make a positive impression and raise awareness as they travel around their community. CNIB has since returned to Sign Source Solution for more vehicle wraps for their other vehicles, and we’re proud to have won the trust of our valued client.
